Jana Mossip

I’d like to introduce myself! My name is Jana Mossip. I’m a Registered Dental Hygienist and
owner of Pearl Mobile Dental Hygiene and Whitening Clinic!

I’ve been a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) for over 13 years and I recently ventured out
on my own to work independently. Working independently allows me to have more flexibility
with my work/life balance. Along with being a Registered Dental Hygienist, I am also a busy
mom to two girls, Kinley and Harper and a crazy boxer pup, named Nash! It also allows me
to spend more time with my client’s, getting to know them and to make sure all of your dental
hygiene and/or whitening goals are met. I have a very calm and caring nature and strive to
provide the best care, in a relaxed environment.

I offer in-office and mobile dental hygiene and whitening services. My in-office clinic is
located inside Trillium Family Chiropractic, at 390 Flora Street in Carleton Place, Ontario.
The clinic is very warm and welcoming and I’m very fortunate to be a part of their amazing
wellness team! My space is located on the ground floor with lots of parking and it is
wheelchair accessible.

As a RDH, during the intraoral and extraoral exam, I am able to identify TMJ issues. The
temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a sliding hinge joint formed by your skull and jawbone. It
allows you to open and close your mouth so that you can chew, yawn and talk. (CCA
ARTICLE SOURCE). With an influx of patients being diagnosed with TMJ , I am thankful to
be able to have Dr. Carter under the same roof to help co-manage my clients who need
chiropractic care to help with pain associated with TMJ. Common reasons for TMJ issues
are malocclusion (misalignment of teeth), clenching/grinding habit (which is evident when the
biting surfaces of the teeth are flattened off and/or bony growths are visible on the floor of
the mouth called “tori”. Some of the most common symptoms of TMJ disorder are jaw pain,
ear pain, and neck/shoulder pain. Often, TMJ patients have difficulty opening and closing
their mouths.

The dental hygiene services I provide are scaling, polish (stain removal), fluoride application,
pit and fissure sealants, intra and extra oral exams, periodontal assessment, oral cancer
screening, diet counselling, and referrals to specialists. I also offer a topical numbing agent
that can be applied to the gums prior to treatment to reduce sensitivity.

On your first visit, I will take time to get to know you, review your medical history and hear
your concerns, goals, likes/dislikes about having your teeth cleaned and come up with a
treatment plan that suits your needs best to ensure a positive and relaxed experience. Just
like a Dentist, Registered Dental Hygienists will develop a treatment plan on what needs to
be done without up-selling. We are trained to identify problems and make appropriate
recommendations and referrals when necessary.

I am able to work with most insurance companies and offer direct billing. I offer day, evening
, and Saturday appointments. I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you reach all
your dental goals!
